Accutane, the brand name for Isotretinoin, is a powerful oral retinoid primarily used to treat severe, cystic, or treatment-resistant acne. It works by drastically reducing sebaceous (oil) gland size and output, lowering the bacteria and inflammation associated with acne outbreaks.
